Why are more law firms insisting on using cookies? We don't get it. There are only a couple of flaws in on an otherwise beautiful home page. The first is a frames-based presentation that should be just a tad smaller, because the "designed by" logo was not visible on the bottom of the page, and there were no scroll bars. The other is the logo itself. Perhaps you don't want the word "Muffin Head" on your home page. And frames are generally used for navigation. Here they are gratuitous. Inside, we found the animated graphics distracting. And navigation was confusion. Are we supposed to use the top navigation bar or the bottom? We had to repeatedly return to the home page to find our place. Attorney profiles were included under the oddly named "One Firm" section. The page layout of the profiles was very nice, but the cramped frames presentation left us scrolling up and down a lot. And e-mail addresses were not included in the profiles. And with 1998 winding down, why a section entitled "1997 in Review"? The "Publications" section contained only a bibliography of the firm's publication, not the publications themselves. Under "Recent News" were links to a handful of articles published on lexis-nexis.com by the firm's attorneys. Of course, the problem of framing off-site content like this is that it won't be indexed by the site's search engine. Then again, this site lacked a search engine.
