It's always refreshing to see a fresh approach to this medium. Harris Beach & Wlicox's site starts out obviously different: most firms opt for either a splash screen or a more conventional home page with links to the major subsections. Harris Beach & Wilcox eschew both approaches, opting for a purely marketing-driven site. It offers visitors a tour of the firm or their "Legal Expo". We were intrigued by the legal expo, and were glad that we checked it out. The firm focuses on a particular topic (the current feature is "Getting Your Business off the Ground") and publishes several articles related to that topic. We don't know if this content is exclusively on the web site or if the firm does this in print as well, but the result is impressive. While it's not a staggering amount of content, it's enough to show you how the firm approaches problems and why they would be a good firm to hire. The rest of the site is OK but not great - the left frame is overly "tall" (which forces the browser to add a scroll bar - more efficient use of space would eliminate this). The majority of the content is unformatted text - which diminishes from the overall appearance of the site. Mostly as a result of the innovative approach to presentation, this site scores highly.
