We probably shouldn't get this excited about seeing a phone number on the home page, but after seeing just how rare it is, we have to acknowledge a good idea. Give the designers at Gardere & Wynne credit - the phone number is right there on top. There's a fax number too. Why don't more firms do this? Once inside, there were other things to get excited about. Case in point: the attorney bios page. In addition to being able to click on individual names (which pull up a full bio with photo, phone & fax numbers, and e-mail address), you get as ABSTRACT of each attorney (each page represents one letter of the alphabet). The result? If you're just skimming, you get a feel for all of the attorneys instead of just one. It's a great idea. Practice group descriptions are wordy - and without any images to break up the presentation, the entire screen fills with words. It's hard to read on a screen - and we doubt too many people will print this out. It's nice to see so much listed under "What's New" - but the layout hides a lot of good information. Using sub-headings at the top of the page would give a clue about what's below, and make "What's New" much easier to browse.
