One of the nicest features of the Davis Wright Tremaine site is its "News to Use" section - designed as its own "site", the breakdown of different types of content is a nice way of presenting lots of different information. Without any indication of currency, however, you must poke around to see if anything recent is buried below. A nice touch would be to cue visitors that certain sections have new content (put the link in bold, or make it a different color, or add an unobtrusive "new" button a la Yahoo - just something that indicates the new material). At least some of the e-mail on the site is done by way of a script (rather than a direct e-mail link) - presumably so that the e-mail can be tracked (i.e., a copy can be sent to a marketing person who can log how many e-mails the site generates). This is a good tactic to use if the firm is looking for data to support continued efforts on the web site. Practice profiles are here, as is the attorney directory (searchable by name and by location). Graphics are professional - this site was designed by Inherent.Com, Inc. (Martindale-Hubbell's marketing partner), and the site structure and consistent presentation are top-rate. Documents in the press room probably should avoid SHOUTING - initial caps are fine (and less obnoxious). Attorney bios should have phone/fax numbers in addition to e-mail addresses.
