A new entrant, Bell, Boyd & Lloyd's site has the right elements: professionally designed images, database programming, and more often than not, the content is well-written and timely. Yet the whole doesn't add up to the sum of the parts... but we guess that this reaction may be subjective. Most of the practice areas under Newsletters offered timely content, though a handful had nothing more recent than 1996 and 1997. Contact info is included for all offices on the same page - a small detail that far too few firms get right. The designer's choice of font makes some pages hard to read, and the use of watermark graphics is distracting. And why did they decide to use sound effects (resembling a door opening on the Star Trek set) when each page loads?
