Designers must always choose between form and function. And though we like the image presented by the initial screen, we have to ask whether a few blinking words and fading images is worth the long download time. We counted more than 20 images on the home page (with one weighing in over 100k) - which means you'll spend a lot of time waiting for the page to load. If I'm interested in contacting the firm, I'm first greeted with a stern "warning!" page about e-mail insecurity - which presumes that I want to contact them by e-mail. What about telephone? Fax? Mail? Firms shouldn't ignore the more conventional means of communication - it just makes it harder for people to get in touch with you. Site navigation is excellent - almost all navigation menus are customized to the current location, and all are sufficiently detailed to allow you to go exactly where you want without overwhelming you with options. Practice group profiles could be more detailed (they could list attorneys in each area, for example, and they could also provide contact information). Graphics are consistent throughout, and despite some long load times, make for a good experience.
