We don't like the "splash" screen that greets visitors to millercanfield.com. Visitors see the firm name and are then told to "click anywhere to enter Miller Canfield Online." Why not just start there? This site was professionally done, and throughout the site the design is good. Graphics are clean, and the layout of the site is fairly consistent (although the headers of some pages refer to the full name of the firm, while others refer to "Miller, Canfield Online"). Finding the location of their offices, or even phone/fax numbers, is difficult. Click on "About Miller Canfield" and then "Information About Our Offices" to get it. Attorney bios are well presented, including a nifty Java applet that simplifies the retrieval of a particular attorney's resume. Their "Hot Points" newsletter is published quarterly and is available in its entirety online. However the content is somewhat superficial and includes unnecessary clip art images in the layout. Navigation is helped by a text-based navbar at the bottom of every page, but every page is titled the same - "Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C." - making bookmarking the pages useless.
