Burr & Forman LLP is a full-service law practice consisting of 120 attorneys that represent a diverse clientele throughout the Southeast and the nation. Since the founding of the firm in 1904, our practice has been headquartered in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. In 1988, we established a second office in Huntsville, Alabama, home of the Marshall Space Flight Center and a growing high-technology community concentrating in aerospace and electronics. In March of 1995, we opened an office in Atlanta, Georgia.

The history of the Burr & Forman LLP law practice parallels the history of 20th-century Birmingham. Started at the turn of the century as Percy & Benners, the firm changed its name in 1986 to Burr & Forman to honor two prominent, long-standing partners. In the early days of the firm's existence, Birmingham's economy was largely dependent on heavy industry and consequently clients were drawn primarily from the manufacturing sector.

Today, the firm provides legal services for virtually all areas of business, banking, corporate law, health law, environmental law, trusts and estates, and real estate activity. We maintain broad based trial and labor practices and have gained a national reputation for our work in those and other areas of our practice.

In recent decades, emerging technologies have resulted in increased representation by our firm of service-related industries. Our clients include financial services institutions, health care providers, other professionals, insurance companies, non-profit entities, entrepreneurial operations, individuals, high-technology businesses, and many other public and privately owned companies involved in a host of service enterprises. At the same time, we continue to serve major industrial corporations and are proud to represent many manufacturing clients.
